TrueImage is a PostScript-compatible interpreter (clone) originally developed by Cal Bauer and Bauer Enterprises and sold to Microsoft in 1989.
After many delays, Microsoft finally delivered version 1.0 of TrueImage to Apple; Apple announced they would be licensing PostScript Level 2 from Adobe Systems a few months later.
Still, TrueImage was used in a variety of laser printers into the mid-1990s, with limited success.

TrueImage (TI) is a program with which you can make a full backup image of your entire hard-disk(s) or only some partitions.
When you first install TrueImage, it asks you whether you want to make bootable floppies (4) or CD-ROM with its Bootable Rescue Media Builder.
Run TrueImage, and click the Control menu (top-left corner) on the first screen, there is an "About" option in there which shows you which version you have installed.

Trueimage 7 needs 5 floppy disks, the newest update 6 floppy disks.
I assume you mean TrueImage 8.0 because of the incremental capability.
I've tested both, TrueImage was an amazing discovery for me because I've used Ghost from years and it was one the most reliable system for me.

I saw somewhere (and can't locate it now) where someone said there are some services that run, 2 or 3 programs that are running all the time.
Now that you mention it, I see a "TrueImage Monitor" running and it uses 1092K.
Have no idea what it is but I guess I can live with it.

TrueImage can (among other options) clone the drive exactly to another drive and everything will appear just as it was, including the master boot record
I tried to clone my OS drive with Acronis TrueImage and it DID have to reboot.

The magazine rated TrueImage 4.5 stars out of 5 and made it an Editors Choice.
To me, that says more about PC Magazine than it does about TrueImage.
If you use TrueImage version 8, be sure to get the bug fixes for it.

When i restored my system by Acronis TrueImage, it recommanded me to reboot the system for i would restored the c partition.
But when rebooted, the Acronis TrueImage reported that "ide2:ports already in use, skipping probe".After that there was the TrueImage GUI, i selected "restore" and pressed the first "next" button.
This post is eerily identical to the same problem I am having.
