TRULKU TENZIN DELEK, popularly known as Ah-Nga Tashi, is a highly-respected lama in Lithang County, Karze "TAP", Sichuan Province.
In February 2004, the Chinese Foreign Ministry informed the German Foreign Ministry in regard to an official EU demarche that Trulku Tenzin Delek is being held in Chuangdong Prison in Dazu district, Sichuan Province.
Trulku is renowned for his active involvement in the restoration of Tibetan culture and religion, social welfare activities and his bold statements about repressive Chinese policies in Tibet.

Trulku Tenzin Delek (aka- A ngag Tashi), a highly respected Tibetan monk who vociferously spearheaded the activities for environmental protection, culture and preservation of Tibetan Buddhism was arrested on charges of series of bombing incidents in 2002 in Chengdu, Sichuan Province, Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture “TAP”
Both Trulku and Lobsang Dhondup refused to accept the court verdict and appealed to Sichuan Higher People’s Court to revoke their death sentence, which rejected their appeal and upheld the original verdict in the second-instance trial and on January 26, 2003 handed down the same verdict.
TCHRD believes that Trulku is innocent and was wrongly implicated in the bombing incidents and urged the Chinese authorities to ascertain his whereabouts, well-being and release him immediately.

Trulku Tenzin Delek would face the same fate if his death sentence with a two years' reprieve that ends on 25th January 2005, is not reversed.
It is widely believed that Trulku Tenzin Delek's trial is unfair and unjust not just because he was denied the right to hire an attorney as enshrined in the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights but also because no known evidence was produced to impose such a severe sentence.

Luzi Tashi Phuntsok, the disciplinarian (Tib: Geko, Translit: dge bskos) and the former caretaker of Thekchen Jangchup Choeling Monastery established by Trulku was detained probably in July/August 2002.
This is crucial in the light that the deceased and Trulku were linked to the entire incident with the sole evidence of so-called political leaflets being thrown and found at the site.

In March of 1996 Nazod Trulku, the spiritual head of the Nazod monastery in Serta County Tibet, was arrested by Chinese officials for what would constitute as free speech in the United States.
For this "crime" Nazod Trulku was arrested and taken to Serta County prison where he was held for five months and periodically tortured, according to the Tibet Center for Human Rights and Democracy.
Some sources say that Nazod Trulku has been transferred to Me-Nyag Ra Nga prison in Nyag-rong county but the exact place of his current imprisonment is unknown.
