The median income for a household in the county was $38,298, and the median income for a family was $46,203.

Trumbull County, created in 1800, is located on the southern border of Ashtabula County, the eastern borders of Geauga and Portages counties and the western border of the State of Pennsylvania.
The County is approximately 40 miles southeast of the City of Cleveland.The County encompasses 24 townships and eleven cities and villages, the largest of which is the City of Warren, the County Seat.
The County is in the Youngstown-Warren, Ohio Metropolitan Statistical Area (MSA) comprised of Trumbull, Columbiana and Mahoning Counties, the 54th largest of 264 MSA's in the United States.

Nurturing Pathways to Freedom in Trumbull County was established in 2003 to give the community a glimpse into the historical realities concerning local anti-slavery sentiments from the 1820s to the 1850s.
A wealth of original source material has been uncovered to support the fact that Trumbull County was a key player in the "forwarding business." The use of the "underground railroad" vocabulary first appears locally about 1850.
Disapproval over slavery was especially strong in northern Ohio, including the counties to the south, west and north of Trumbull County.

The Ohio Revised Code Section 955.12 allows the county to hold a licensed dog for up to 14 days, after mailing notice of it's capture to the owner, before allowing it to be either sold or destroyed.
