 Truso
Truso, situated on Lake Druzno[?], was an Old Prussian town near the Baltic Sea just east of the Vistula River.
Truso was situated in a central location upon the Eastern European trade routes, which led from Birka in the north to the island of Gotland and to Visby in the Baltic Sea and later included the Hanseatic League city of Elblag.
The reasons for this journey are fundamentally unclear, since Truso was at the time little more than a trading center, and Alfred the Great, the West Saxon ruler, already kept in close contact with the continental Saxons and the Franks.

 Truso - Katalog Znalezisk Archeologicznych
The analysis of the finds showed that the settlement at Janów Pomorski (Truso) could be dated from the end of the 8th to the beginning of the 11th centuries, but the majority of finds (apart from the coins) date to the 9th and 10th centuries.
The objects from the end of the 8th and the beginning of the 9th century were brought to the settlement in the first decades of the 9th century, when it was already a well-established port of trade.
Leaving aside the question of periodisation of Truso in the 9th and 10th centuries, it is nonetheless important to consider that the end of Truso as a port of trade should be dated to the middle or third quarter of the 10th century.

They found the legendary Truso - the early medieval port settlement described by Alfred the Great, the king of England, in the ninth century.
Archeologists have also uncovered traces of a fire and pieces of weapons and have thus helped to solve the riddle of the sudden collapse of this trading emporium by endorsing the argument that Truso had been destroyed as a result of a pirate raid in the late ninth or early tenth century.
An archeological open-air museum is now being put together on the site, and the mock-up of the port as well as the excavated objects may be seen at the Truso: Archeological Treasures permanent exhibition at the Museum of Elblag.
