The term "grantor trust" also has a special meaning in tax law: a trust in which the Federal income tax consequences of the trust's investment activities are entirely the responsibility of the settlor or another individual who has unfettered power to take out all the assets.
A resulting trust may be deemed to be present where a trust instrument is not properly drafted and a portion of the equitable title has not been provided for.
An implied trust (also called a resulting trust) is created where some of the legal requirements for an express trust are not met, but an intention on behalf of the parties to create a trust can be presumed to exist.

The new USA Patriot Act strips the courts of much of their power to review and monitor electronic surveillance by law-enforcement and intelligence agencies; it also allows government access to private student records, disclosure of information obtained through grand-jury proceedings, and even long-term and possibly indefinite detention of noncitizens without meaningful judicial review.
The unilateral power of the president and his law-enforcement appointees will also be greatly enhanced by the breakdown of boundaries between intelligence operations and crime control.
If the president, the attorney general, and their army of agents trust themselves with unbridled discretion, we should mistrust them for their arrogance.

Expect aggressive defense of property law by PCUSA - 1/13/05
At that average, the value of all property used by the PCUSA's 11,000 local congregations held in trust for the benefit of the denomination is $7.4 billion.
Although there was no property canon law in the Presbyterian Church at that time, the court concluded that the denomination – not a breakaway congregation – had the right to claim the property.
In a like manner, the Presbyterian Church (USA) faces a dread: the test of its right to the property of congregations that wish either to 1) separate from the denomination with their property or 2) simply to revoke the constitutional clause that declares that local congregations hold their property in trust for the denomination.

USA Today Social Security commentary riddled wi ... [Media Matters]
In fact, the Social Security trustees estimate that under current law the trust fund has enough money to pay promised benefits until the year 2042 -- not in 2018, as Carter claimed -- while the nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office estimates that the so-called "year of exhaustion" will be 2052.
In a January 14 column in USA Today, Stefani D. Carter, identified as a former fellow at the conservative Heritage Foundation and a current student at Harvard Law School and Harvard's Kennedy School of Government, made false claims to argue that Social Security faces an imminent threat and that private accounts are the solution.
In claiming that Social Security was unfair to her uncle, Carter also ignored a substantial element of the Social Security program: survivor and disability benefits.
