Phebe could either be a mistranscription or a pet name for Tryphena, her age agrees with the 1891 census although not the 1901.
Several of George & Tryphena's children appear to have emigrated to Canada, my mum remembers that her father had relatives in Canada and was always trying to persuade my grandmother to emigrate there and I have recently made contact with a cousin who has knowledge of these Canadian relatives.
The witnesses to the marriage were Henry Smith, Tryphena Yates and Frederick Yates, we believe that Henry and Tryphena are her older brother and sister.

From this I found a baptism entry in the IGI for Tryphena Dunkin, daughter of William Dunkin and Sarah at St John the Baptist Shoreditch on 31st October 1855.
This could explain why the children were not baptised until 1855 but also means that Sarah lied by putting her name as Sarah Dunkin formerly Steward on the birth certificate for Tryphena if she did not marry William until 1853.
His appearance as a witness to Tryphena's marriage when her father was deceased suggests he was perhaps a father figure?
