Trzebnica is a small town with the population of 12,500 people and is situated along the valley in the Trzebnica Hills, 160-210 meters above the sea level.
The construction of the monastery was finished in 1218 and after their death the Duke and his wife were buried in the temple.
In 1703 Mary Caroline Leszczyńska, the daughter of the Polish king Stanisław, was born in Trzebnica on Ogrodowa Street.

Hedwig was born in 1174, the daughter of Berthold IV, Duke of Meran.
She died in 1243 at Trzebnica, and was canonized in 1267.

Wisznia Mała gmina is situated between the river Widawa and the Trzebnica Hills, so in the south it borders with Wrocław and Trzebnica in the north.
Because of its attractive location near the capital of Lower Silesia and its healthy environment, of which the local authorities take care, the gmina became a home for many Wrocław residents.
The villages Ozorowice (which is situated near a wood), Mienice (which is also situated near a wood on the sides of the Trzebnica Hills), Piotrkowiczki and Wysoki Kościół (from where on a clear sunny day you can see the view of Wrocław, Mount Ślęza or even the Sudety Mountains) are waiting to be discovered.

We tried in vain to find the tourist office, then walked by the Trzebnica Historical Museum (open Saturdays only), and finally found a city map in a bookstore.
It was absolutely fascinating with text in both Polish and German, and map after map of the city from as far back as the 1400’s.
