From August 4-10, 2002, Tsinghua University's Institute of International Studies (IIS) hosted the inaugural "Tsinghua University Summer Symposium on Arms Control." The Center for Nonproliferation Studies (CNS) at the Monterey Institute of International Studies (MIIS) and the Union of Concerned Scientists co-sponsored the symposium.
