In order to assess the possible influence of fault dislocations on the channel alluvium composition, the floodplain deposits from Dnieper, Yaselda, Sluch, Drut, Tsna river valleys different in a set of parameters were studied at those sites, where the rivers cross fault zones.
Samples were taken immediately at the sites where the rivers intersect the linear fault structures, as well as outside the intersection areas.
Nevertheless, the changes revealed may be used as indicators of fault dislocations only within areas with similar geological structure of river banks, because a difference in the composition of deposits drained by rivers may influence the alluvium composition more significantly, than faults do.
