Tsuen Wan (Chinese: 荃灣, formerly also Tsun Wan) is a bay in the New Territories, Hong Kong, opposite to Tsing Yi Island across Rambler Channel.
A market town of the Tsuen Wan emerged for the surrounding villages and fleets of fishing boats in the area.
In 1970s it was developed as part of the Tsuen Wan New Town.

With the explosion of population in the new town, the district spun off Kwai Chung and Tsing Yi to form a new Kwai Tsing District.

The Tsuen Wan Line Tsuen Wan <-> Lai King section was opened in 10 May 1982, and the Lai King <-> Prince Edwards section was opened in 17 May 1982, due to the construction delay.
In January 1997, the Lai King station was successfully expanded to be an interchange station for the Tung Chung Line and Tsuen Wan Line, while the first train from Spain was received.
