After all, by the same logic, you'd expect the existing American comics readers to be interested in foreign comics - and for the most part, they don't seem to be.
It means producing American comics consciously designed to appeal to the American manga audience (who, remember, weren't the primary intended audience for manga to start with).

Tsunami was a decent start- an effort to put out all-ages books in a manga-type style that the “kids” these days really enjoy.
My boss’s son is just getting to be old enough to be able to appreciate comics (and I don’t mean the bag and board, protect at all COSTS appreciate), and I have taken to passing on some of the kid-friendly titles to him that I come across.

The answer is this: presuming we’re not just trying to describe comics parents can buy for their young children without concern that the tykes’ll be learning inside secrets of fl magic or how French kissing really works, no one creates "all-ages" comics.
On the other hand, you have "all ages" comics from Marvel and DC that are clearly intended only for people (more specifically, men) of my age clinging to their own childhoods.
Comics aimed at "kids" are actually aimed at their parents.

 Signs of tsunami emerging after all
A tsunami estimated at nearly half the size of the one that hit Thailand on Dec. 26 was produced in some areas along the northwestern coast of Indonesia following Monday's 8.7-magnitude earthquake, according to a team of scientists that arrived on the scene yesterday.
A military official in the area told Indonesian news media yesterday that a tsunami destroyed many buildings on the nearby islands of Simeulue and Banyak but that he still had no word how many, if any, of the hundreds reported killed in those areas might have died not from the quake but from the tsunami.
While tsunamis occasionally run up on slopes to great heights, Titov said it is unusual for the wave's height as it comes on shore (sometimes known as "flow depth") to reach such magnitude.

Perhaps I'm wrong, but to me at least, watching the tsunami waves crash inland is, visually, a lot less disturbing an image than that of the collapse of the Twin Towers.
But perhaps it's not a plan, per se, but a smack on the back of the head to each of us to stop whining so much and enjoy our lives while we have 'em, cause while we think we're immortal, we are to the planet as an insect is to us.
I am thankful that international relief efforts are underway to aid the cities devastated by the tsunami, but I sense that most of us haven't paused to reflect upon the enormity of this disaster which, is among the most tragic occurrences in recent history.

The Tsunami comics are influenced by the manga style of art and are aimed at a more general, non-comics reading audience with an emphasis on themes and characterization that might particularly appeal to younger female readers.
None of these kids really knew each other before the events in this series, so part of the charm of the comic is watching them interact with each other, sometimes arguing and bickering, but also bonding over their shared dire circumstances, and learning more about each other in the process.
In fact, RUNAWAYS is a great book for both long-time and newer comics readers, and its theme of teenagers versus an adult world that is conspiring against them is something that should particularly appeal to younger readers.

I assume that'll be SOP for the Tsunami line as a whole, but still...just looking at the detail Larrocca put into page one, and into the double-page spread of Atlantis, makes me wish we could've seen this level of quality more consistently.
My brother wanted me to grab him a Venom and he was a little disappointed that I may have missed it, but I guess there's still a little hope for the little Venom fanatic of mine if it hasn't came out yet.
