The cruising speed was 800 km/h, maximal speed 900 km/h.
In period 1956-1958 Tupolevs 104 were the only one jet airliners in regular service (Comets were grounded due technical failures).
In 1957 Tupolev Design Bureau offered Tu104A version for 70 passengers and version Tu-104B streched by 1,2 m for 100 passengers.

I was told that there was an oxygen bottle above the navigator compartment that would be available in case of decompression.
In the TU-114 the navigator has newer radar and Loran sets than in the '104, and also an improved true heading unit.
In addition, the TU-114 has a periscopic sextant that is a permanent part of the aircraft.
