Forests with beeches occur in lower mountains, in the Pomeranian Lake District, western part of the Masurian Lake District, the Lublin Upland and in the Bieszczady.
This is the Bialowieza Forest (Puszcza Bialowieska), straddling the border of Poland and Belarus, on the Bielska Plain, between the Narewka and Lesna rivers, the latter being a tributary of the Bug.

I live deep in the forest, somewhere in north Poland (Tuchola Forest, we call it Bory Tucholskie).
Cekcyn is located at the very heart of the Tuchola Forests, upon Lake Wielkie Cekcynskie which covers 134 ha of land.
It is not far from such towns and cities as Tuchola (12km), Chojnice (37km) and Bydgoszcz (56km).

 Borow Tucholskich National Park
The Park comprises of 4,250 ha of forests in the community of Chojnice in the Bydgoszcz voivodship, and 530 ha of water including numerous lakes and the Brda River with its tributaries and streams.
The Pomeranian Primeval Forest, located between the communities of Chojnice, Koscierzyna, Tuchola and Starogard, constitutes one of the largest forest systems in Poland, covering an area of over 120,000 ha (1.5 per cent of the national territory).
The Tucholskie Forests, which are a part of this primeval forest, are 12.5 thousand years old and remain in relatively unspoiled shape.

The mosts notable of forests in the west of Poland are the Puszcza Piska (Pisz Forest), Puszcza Notecka (Notec Forest), Bory Tucholskie (Tuchola Forest) and Bory Dolnoslaskie (Lower Silesia Forest).

Laczki used to belong to the diocese of Krakow, but the parish church was in Leki [on modern maps this appears to be the village named Leki Strzyzowskie], and until the partitioning of Galicia the church in Laczki was a branch of that one.
Both villages are in an area of rolling countryside, covered to the north and south by fir forests, on a small tributary of the left bank of the Wisloka.
A new wooden church was built here in 1710; it was from earlier times a filial church connected to Brusy; only after the restitution of the original parish system was it detached as an independent parish by the decree of Feb. 10, 1859, mostly by the efforts of Jerzy Jeszki, suffragan bishop of Chelm.

Sliwice, German name Groß Schliewitz, a church owned village in the Tuchola Forest, on the river Sliwiczka, 25.7 km.
northeast of Tuchola, on the edge of Tuchola county.
During the days of August II Sliwice was ravaged by constant war, and as a result the king bestowed on Sliwice a grant entitling it to free wood for firewood and construction from the nearby royal forest, as well as free pasturage and fishing.
