  BASIC FACTS ABOUT TUENSANG DISTRICT
TUENSANG is one of the eight districts of Nagaland.
Tuensang touches Assam on its north on a narrow strip between Mon on the east and Mokokchung in the West.
On the South of Tuensang lies Phek District and on the west are Zunheboto and Mokokchung districts.

Close on the heels of the Mokokchung case, an NSCN(IM) activist was reportedly lynched to death in Tuensang town of Nagaland yesterday for assaulting two leaders of the Tuensang and Mon Students’ Federation (TMSF) on August 21.
Officials said Thursday’s incident occurred during a 12-hour bandh called by leaders of the TMSF and the Tuensang Mon Public Organisation (TMPO) to register their protest against the assault and harassment of two of its leaders by the militants while they were returning from a meeting on Wednesday.
Reports from Kohima said that the people of Tuensang grew impatient while a meeting was on between representatives of the NSCN(IM), TMSF and TMPO, and beat up Raising Tangkhul, one of the two NSCN(IM) cadres who had allegedly assaulted two students on Wednesday.

 Repolling peaceful in Nagaland
Repolling in 51 booths spread over seven districts in Nagaland was smooth on Friday even as the exercise could not be carried out at two booths due to delay in communication, official sources said.
The booths were spread over Wokha, Kohima, Zunheboto, Mokokchung, Tuensang, Mon and Phek districts, they said, adding repolling was held peacefully save for "some disruption" at Longsha village in Wokha district.
The sources said as the Election Commission's approval for re-poll in case of certain booths was received only on Thursday night, it could not be held at two remote booths at Kiphire subdivision in Tuensang district.

Sources told The Northeast Daily here on Tuesday that the outfit, headed by one Sangtan, is reportedly operating from Tuensang and Mon districts of Nagaland.
Though the strength of the new outfit is yet to be ascertained, sources said that the ‘Limitsung’ is recruiting cadres in and around the Tuensang area.
