		Il predominio americano in questa disciplina nel corso di tutto il XX secolo è testimoniato da numeri schiaccianti: nel trampolino maschile l'oro olimpico andò a tuffatori statunitensi ininterrottamente dal 1920 al 1968 e in ogni edizione vinse un atleta diverso; analogo fu il record femminile durato dal1920 al 1956.
