The Tui (Prosthemadera novaeseelandiae) is a passerine bird of New Zealand, one of the largest members of the diverse honeyeater family.
On closer inspection, it can be seen that Tui have faded browner patches on the back and flanks, a multicoloured iridescent sheen which varies with the angle that the light strikes them from, and a dusting of small, white-shafted feathers on the back of the neck that produce a lacy collar.
Tui are found though much of New Zealand, particularly the North Island, the west and south coasts of the South Island, Stewart Island and the Chatham Islands.

There is no doubt Tui is going to be a big boned powerful horse and although she is increadibly quiet to handle I reconize that there is a lot of horse under that quiet exterior.

My favourite New Zealand bird, and as much as I tried, I did not manage to take a picture that does it justice.
The tui is of a beautiful blue colour and supports a white ball just bellow its neck.
It is quite unafraid, and one often hears it cry out its "Tui-Tui" sound.
