Tulbahadur Pun is a Nepalese recipient of the Victoria Cross, the highest and most prestigious award for gallantry in the face of the enemy that can be awarded to British and Commonwealth forces.
He was 21 years old, and a Rifleman in the 3rd Battalion, 6th Gurkha Rifles, Indian Army during the Second World War when the following deed took place for which he was awarded the VC.
On 23 June 1944 at Mogaung, Burma (now Myanmar), during an attack on the railway bridge, a section of one of the platoons was wiped out with the exception of Rifleman Tulbahadur Pun, his section commander and one other.

The VC remained in the possession of the family until the 22nd July 1991 when it was donated to the Regimental Trust of the 6th Queen Elizabeth's Own Gurkha Rifles by Michael Allmand's brother and eldest sister at a ceremony held in Hong Kong.
Among the distinguished guests to witness the presentation was Honarary Lieutenant Tulbahadur Pun VC; HE The Governor of Hong Kong, Sir David Wilson, GCMG; and Brigadier Mike Calvert DSO, commanding 77th Indian Brigade at the Battle of Mogaung.
Rifleman Tulbahadur Pun with a Bren gun continued the charge alone in the face of shattering fire and reaching the position, killed three of the occupants and put five more to flight, capturing two light machine-guns and much ammunition.

In this case, Honorary Lieutenant Tulbahadur Pun, VC, of the 6th Gurkha Rifles.
I simply can not accept that the logistics of reuniting Mister Pun with his medal one last time are unachievable.

Pun was awarded a VC at Mogaung on the night of 6/7th June 1944.
After his comrades were killed around him, he single handedly charged a group of Japanese who were dug in 30 yards away across open ground, firing a bren gun from the hip he overcame the enemy and captured their position and two light machine guns.

Lieutenant Grant, followed by Havildar Karbir Pun, 8th Gurkha Rifles, at once attempted to scale it, but on reaching the top he was wounded and hurled back, as was also the Havildar, who fell down the rock some 30 feet.
