Gotliffe has been involved with the Holocaust Survivors Group and the Japanese-American community in Northern California.
He visited sites of Nazi concentration camps  as well as the Manzanar Internment Camp,  and attended the Tule Lake Internment Camp Pilgrimage in 2004.
He also conceived of the “Gathering of Friends” bringing together 25 Holocaust survivors and 25 former internees for a day of sharing life stories.

Around 1998 I bought, at Sorensen's Lodge (Alpine County), a tule decoy by Davin George (Washo?).
I have plans to replicate Lovelock Cave-style tule duck decoys and he said you would be a person to talk to.
What I have done so far is harvest tules and make a couple of prototypes based on your instructions in both the Bulletin of Primitive Technology and on the nativetech.org website.
