A large-scale operation was being conducted against the terrorists by the military on Sunday in the rural Dokuzkaya, Sarıyayla, Kızılmescit and Zağge areas located in the Pülümür and Nazimiye districts of Tunceli with approximately 5,000 troops, NTV reported Sunday afternoon.
Tunceli is some 550 kilometers northeast of the province of Şırnak and 650 kilometers (400 miles) northeast of the province of Hakkari, the places where most of the recent fighting with the terrorists has taken place.

Also in Tunceli, a taxi driver was seriously injured when his vehicle ran on a mine planted on a rural road by PKK rebels, the Anatolia news agency reported.
