This is a long-standing approximation for Aisin Gioro, where Aisin means 'gold' and is supposed to be a direct reference to the Jin Empire, the 'Aisin Gurun' in both Manchu and Jurchen.
Nurgaci presented himself as a Tunggiya before he made this up.
