Tuolumne County was one of the original counties of California, created in 1850 at the time of statehood.
In the county the population is spread out with 20.70% under the age of 18, 7.60% from 18 to 24, 25.30% from 25 to 44, 27.90% from 45 to 64, and 18.50% who are 65 years of age or older.
