  TurboByGarrett.com - FAQ's   (Site not responding. Last check: 2007-10-31)
Choosing between a single or parallel twin turbo setup is primarily based on packaging constraints in the engine bay, or a personal choice by the tuner.
One slight draw back to a sequential twin turbo system is that sometimes during daily driving (specifically, in cornering) if the driver is not constantly aware, the second turbo will spool and result in a lot of unpredicted power.
Turbo lag is determined by many factors, including turbo size relative to engine size, the state of tuning of the engine, the inertia of the turbo's rotating group, turbine efficiency, intake plumbing losses, exhaust backpressure, etc.

 Turbo
To replace the elbow you must either remove the turbo or the water pump and disconnect both ends of the pipe; as the pipe is captured behind the water pump and oil pump and the turbo.
The turbo must be larger to flow more air and at the same time not introduce excessive turbo lag.
I have been doing some research on turbos, and have found that the 84-87 Buick Regal Turbo's and Grand Nationals also have a 3 bolt exhaust flange, and that the 86-87 intercoolers seem to be a nice unit.

With the turbo in place, the remainder of the intake tubing can be installed and connected with the provided turbo hose.
It wasn't until we saw a live installation that we understood how cool the concept of remote mounting a turbo really is. We were under the impression that a turbo system needed a great deal of heat to function, which as we found out was not entirely true.
The cone effect, whereby velocity increases inside the turbo housing, is much more vital than the slight heat loss caused by moving the turbo system to the rear of the vehicle.

Toyota Supra Turbo With a Nitrous Oxide System - Super Street Magazine
In the interim, I’ve analyzed the projected horsepower and powerband of the Supra after the new turbo will be installed, and the plan of attack is to eliminate that dreaded foe, turbo lag.
A progressive controller, a microthrottle switch, or push-button activation were all possibilities.
Since the kit would be used to simply spool up the turbos, we decided that the best option was to use a manually controlled push button along with a microswitch for safety.

Intec Wireless LIVE Controller Review (Xbox)
For TV watchers the advent of the remote control meant no more blood needed to circulate beyond the upper half of the body for hours on end, for beach bums the inception of the tanning salon made the usual requisite of actually being outdoors to look your finest a moot point.
All of the usual trimmings such as mute and volume control are readily available, but their location has been changed a bit from what most of us are used to.
From a cosmetic standpoint the Intec Wireless Xbox Live Controller is a bit smaller in both width and height when compared to the Controller S. The plastic is a translucent blue with fl hand grips on either side.

This allows pressure from the wastegate pressure line to be fed to the back-side of the wastegate, in effect increasing the wastegate spring.
There is a 0-5 psi manual valve that controls how much pressure is added to the spring pressure (and I realize that most of you understand this stuff!).
As we lowered the boost controller and ran further out, the MAF started to throw all sorts of errors at us…turns out that there is a GM software problem, and the folks at HPT have been hard at work to resolve this.

To precisely regulate the boost pressure, an Innovative Turbo Systems' multi-stage boost controller with a CO2 setup is used.
Three turbos were procured for this test: a Precision LT-70 with a standard P-trim compressor/exhaust wheel with.85 housing (around $995), a Limit Engineering LT-70 with a standard compressor and a GTQ exhaust with.85 housing (around $1195), and a Precision TSM-70 with a GT compressor wheel and GTQ exhaust with.85 housing (around $1295).

GReddy PRofec-A Boost Controller - Tech - Sport Compact Car Magazine
The claim is that they "learn" the response characteristics of your turbocharger, and can thus build boost faster, and hold it with greater stability than conventional control methods.
In reality, however, controllers based on this technology tend only to work on fundamentally stable turbo systems.
Additionally, any modifications that may affect performance like a different air filter or exhaust, require the controller to re-learn the boost curve.

TwinTurbo.NET - Our servers have more track time than yours
Since the tip of the injectors is inside of the manifold, this means that the vacuum or pressure that the injector tip 'feels' also affects the fuel delivery.
Since the ECU controls the duration of time that the injector is held open, it assumes that the fuel pressure is always the same, there must always be a 44.1psi differential between the fuel rail pressure and the manifold pressure.
I want to point out that since the fuel pressure control systems are a 'passive' system and not 'active', there will always be slight variations in fuel pressure from what you see here.
