Turbulence was to be installed by May 15, 2005, as part of a $4 million facelift for the amusement park& Carrousel Circle area, and had been touted as Hersheypark’s major new ride for the coming season.
HARRISBURG (AP) — Less than three months after it began promoting a new roller coaster for next season, the company that owns Hersheypark has sued the ride’s manufacturer for allegedly jacking up the price to cover skyrocketing steel costs.
Hershey Entertainment & Resorts Co. claims in a federal lawsuit that Interactive Rides Inc., of Logan, Utah, agreed to a $2 million purchase price for the Turbulence ride in April, then informed Hershey last month it would need $1.12 million more to build it.

 UPDATE: Hersheypark sues Interactive over ride contract
"Interactive Rides' frequent faller ride (called Turbulence by Hersheypark) is exciting and revolutionary," the company said in the release.
Interactive Rides issued a press release on Friday denying Hersheypark's claim that it had refused to provide the coaster as specified in its contract.
Less than three months after touting the 2005 arrival of the world's first tower coaster, Hersheypark has filed suit against manufacturer Interactive Rides Inc. for allegedly raising its price to cover escalating steel costs.
