A MAN was killed underneath a train at Turnham Green Tube station this week, forcing the station to be closed for nearly two hours coinciding with the first day of the closure of Hammersmith Flyover and adding to the traffic chaos around Chiswick.
There was no Piccadilly line service between Acton Town and Hammersmith stations for over an hour and a half.
The station was closed when the power was turned off on the Piccadilly line for the safety of officers and so that the body could be retrieved.

TURNHAM Green tube station's grim accident record grew even more depressing on Sunday, when a 57-year-old man became the third person within the space of a year to fall into the path of an oncoming train.
