I have spoken with their salesman and chemist to confirm that Safe Klean may indeed be substituted on a 1:1 basis for turpentine.
I would think twice, however, about substituting a product containing even trace amounts of linseed oil for turpentine in the preparation of a final varnish, although I would like to hear the opinions of others on that.

The turpentine that is usually purchased in a hardware store will cause artists' oils to "thread" or "clump" and make a mess of whatever is being worked on.

Posted - Apr 18 2006 : 3:03:22 PM I don't know about Hill's, but Watkins also makes a white liniment - it has active ingredients of camphor and turpentine.
If you want this man's specific brand I can go get the paperwork he handed out - I believe he was from Hillsboro, Ohio.
The Watkins version, with turpentine, is not to be taken internally, so I don't know if it would help your specific sinusitis issues although it is very beneficial for sore muscles.
