To be fair, Twelve Monkeys actually has one scene with some lines about insanity that make a lot of sense, the one where Pitt offers the classic lines "Do you know what crazy is? Crazy is majority rules!" and "There's no right.
She's an observant reasonable intellectual who is also tough and spirited with an attitude, but then goes against everything that previously seemed logical first to believe James is telling the truth and then to abandon this idea and decide to give up her life to run off with him.

The plot of Twelve Monkeys is very confusing and, to be honest, more than a little absurd.
Twelve Monkeys certainly takes some staying with, especially if you're not a fan of the genre, and even if you're a fan of the lead actors because they're playing so much against type.
However, with a disturbing but satisfying (if a little predictable) ending Twelve Monkeys is a chilling, frightening commentary on the possibilities of the future and is well worth a look.

The strongest aspect of 12 Monkeys is its plot with so many twists and turns that I don't want to spoil any of it by delving too deeply into the story.
Suffice to say, it is a time travel story in which Bruce Willis is sent from a future devastated by a manmade plague to find a cure of sorts in the present-day 1990s.
This is somehow sad: 12 Monkeys' story line can be termed "intelligent", not "complicated." It's a sad day for humanity when the sight of Sylvester Stallone blowing away countless bad guys with a machine gun is the only story line that modern cinema audiences seem to be able to follow.

The lyrics work well enough until you actually say monkeys, because then I cant tell if its supposed to be a metaphor for something, or if the narrator is really supposed to be a monkey.
Like the parts where I forget that its (possibly) about a monkey affect me a lot more than the more literal parts; I like that part about nothing else to do, that whole section is very cool.
Maybe you really like that part about you, 8 monkey kids and 3 other monkeys in a cage, but I think that it screws up the song, I would change the words to something else at that point.
