Teen/20s angst films started out in the 80s with Breakfast Club and 16 Candles, and will continue to be made for the foreseeable future, as long as the teens/20 yos that the films are aimed at keep paying out their dollars to watch them.

If we put more into teaching our children *how* to read the Bible, *how* to evaluate the worth/validity of competing views, then we'd be raising generations who could think for themselves instead of floundering the second their hands stop being held.

FYI, not all film score fans and collectors in their late teens and early twenties collect this refuse.
Many musicians and music enthusiasts of my acquaintance (most in their twenties) find the thematic and stylistic regurgitation of film composers to be aggrivating, and most certainly a waste of money with regard to product purchase.
That's why composers like Elliot Goldenthal, William Stromberg and Joel McNeely (sic?) are a welcome alternative to the glamorized fab-five of the film industry (Williams, Elfman, Horner, Goldstein and Zimmer).

I'm not just going to commit myself to a job only to find out a year later that I hate it and want to do something else.
I would prefer to work as a cocktailer or a bartender for a year and then go to grad school for something, probably counseling of some sort.
