		According to my own personal experience, “Twilight” certainly is a recommended entry into the musical world of SX, since what we find here is a mature band (this was their 4th album) that flaunts their major influences while showing off their original overall style.
		Twilight In Olympus is the fourth album by US prog metal band Symphony X and follows on from their “brake through” album; The Divine Wings Of Tragedy.
		'Twilight in Olympus' had the unenviable task of being the follow up album to what in my opinion is one of the greatest album of all time for this genre.

		Some might contend that most Progressive Metal is often no more than a mere synthesis of the gaudier elements of Power Metal with the technical chops of the Neo-Classical Speed Metal movement and in the case of SYMPHONY X that description is certainly apt.
		So to continue on that train of thought, if SYMPHONY X is the archetypal Progressive Metal band, then I would contend that "Twilight In Olympus" then would be the archetypal Progressive Metal album.
		If I were to describe the genre in all of its highs and lows while making reference to only one album, this would be it.

		When "Twilight" came, I had a feeling that it was gonna be a weak shade of "The Divine".
		I thought those were absolutely fantastic, so I had a good feeling when I pushed the play button on my CD-player with "Twilight In Olympos" in it.
		On the overall, one can say that "Twilight in Olympus" doesn't possess the genius of "Divine Wings of Tragedy", yet it is still a masterpiece of the genre.

		"Dressed to Kill", from the "Damnation Game", "Smoke and Mirrors", and "Church of the Machine", from the "Twilight in Olympus" were played in the sequence, and they kept the heavy vibration from the audience, ending the first part of the gig.
		The 13-minute song from "Twilight in Olympus" becomes longer with some improvisations, and shows the band in its maximum ability, mixing styles, changing rhythm and melodies.
		Closing the second part of the concert, the band played the heavy songs "Sea of Lies", and the crowd went crazy one more time, showing that they were really expecting to hear the songs from the "Divine..." album.

		Perhaps because of that, there is a feeling of ideas not being entirely fresh ; "Orion the Hunter" is one of the bands weaker songs and "The Relic" though decent enough is a little bit too much like a retread of "The Accolade" for comfort.

		Symphony X had a hard time trying to overcome the expectations of the fans after "Divine", but I think they had done well with "Twilight in Olympus".
		The album opens with the recognizable trademark song that Symphony X are known for.
		Nothing short of "Divine", Symphony X continues to produce marvelous work with "Twilight".

	Symphony X - Satan Stole My Teddybear
		Together with Michael Pinnella's keyboards and the rest of the band, they create a huge sound without being ostentatious or overblown.
		The heavy sound of The Damnation Game and Divine Wings of Tragedy is blended with the epic feel and orchestration of Twilight In Olympus bringing out the best elements of both and mixing them together with a large selection of classical arrangements to give this album a very big sound.
		Russell Allen's vocals are backed with some great choral arrangements from the rest of the band.

		The sound is very close to "Candlelight Fantasia", off their previous album; slower, more atmospheric, and well-written.
		After all is said, Twilight in Olympus is a great release; it's just extremely difficult to surpass something as spectacular as its predecessor.
		Since their self-titled release and their sophmore effort ("The Damnation Game"), I feel Symphony X has come a long way.

	I might be a Symphony X fan...
		V, Twilight In Olympus, and The Oddysey are my favourites.
		And it doesn't hurt that their music is far and away more interesting than 99% of the other power metal bands out there.
		The ones on Twilight are also good if you can stomach how cheesy that album is, but none of his solos since or before that have really grabbed me, with the exception of some from The Dark Chapter.
