Games like Twinbee typically elicit one response from Japanese college students: “Natsukashii!” For the uninitiated, natsukashii is a word that expresses one’s delighted sense of nostalgia.
The first thing that will strike any casual observer of Twinbee 3 is the fact that right off the bat, flying instruments come hurtling at the ships, all the while shooting pellets in classic vertical shooter style.
The somewhat obnoxious sound effects are muffled by players’ din fairly well, but solo fliers may wind up gritting their teeth in reaction to the sound as time goes on, with it becoming yet one more obstacle on the way to the top of each stage.

TwinBee was simply a two-player simultaneous game before, and they made it as comfortable as possible to play that way again.
TwinBee’s music was meant to be simple and catchy, but it doesn’t necessarily age well, particularly on the Game Boy Advance’s lousy speaker.
TwinBee overall is a classic shooter that never got a solid chance to find its audience in North America.

Where Pop'n Twinbee differs from Detana is in the seemingly minor but hugely beneficial changes that have been made to the gameplay.
In Pop'n Twinbee it's always possible to recover from your mistakes as coloured bells are easier to come by, energy recharges can be scavenged from ground targets and speed isn't such a determing factor in your survival.
To reiterate - Pop'n Twinbee is one of the most attractive, charming and idiosyncratic shooters ever made, and it has the playability to match.

Twinbee is the mechanoid spacecraft that many will remember in Parodius, but actually is the star of many Japanese Twinbee games, along with sidekick ship Winbee.
Gameplay can be described as very similar to Parodius but viewed from the top--you guide Twinbee through scrolling levels, as wave after wave of various flying and ground-based enemies try to shoot you down, leading to a Boss at the end.
Fortunately, Twinbee's basic weapons can be upgraded by shooting clouds, which in turn releases bells.

Classic Review Archive - Pop'n Twinbee
The saga of Twinbee is one of the many tragedies of the history of home video gaming (and who else would propogate this other than Konami?) Originally an arcade game released in Japan in 1985, the Twinbee series soon spawned a few Famicom titles (one of them was released here in America, known as Stinger.
I absolutely love the Twinbee's voice, whenever he grabs a power-up or screams as he's shot down from the air.
Even better is the sound of the Chibi...as the Twinbee or Winbee bloats up, it makes a very amusing "POP" noise when they seemingly give birth to a gamut of tiny little clones.

f you couldn't guess it from either the title or the label art, this is a game in the Twinbee series and is the sequel to the game released in the US as Stinger (the second in the series).
The original game (Twinbee) was a cart and disk-system release way back in 1985 and is kind of like Stinger, but with overhead stages only.

The sprites were off a poor quality particularly the TwinBee one, also the sound was a bit poor and a few of the sound effects were a bit annoying.
The only thing that sucked about it was that Raichu was extremely hard to kill and like when it shows the double electric shock spheres,i shoot the crap outta them but they still hit me. I dunno if that's a glitch or if i have to aim in a certain spot.
When you ripped the TwinBee character,it looked kinda crappy but i knew what he really looked like,so it was still cool.

The second main difference is the addition of bell power-ups, from the Twinbee series.
These bells act as one-time power-ups, allowing you to destroy every enemy on screen, fire huge beams of energy, etc. Enemies and environments from the Gradius games and Twinbee are mixed in along, with a host of anime-style opponents, which include scantily-clad women.
