But the tagline may as well have been 'Made for Twins' as this well-made movie stars twins, centers around a plot involving the relationship between a pair of twins, was directed and produced by twins and obviously was crafted from start to finish with the special bond that exists between twins close in mind.
Filmed in Canada in 2003 by Canadian rookie director, Jordan Barker, the film tells the story of 19-year-old identical twins, Eric and Lou Woods, who both share a dream of winning a National Rowing Championship.
But twins who see the film may see it on a different level as it shows the sacrifice made for a twin for the common benefit of both siblings.

Stallonezenegger -- feature article, In Film Australia
By making two such bad films he was effectively killing off each of his two main characters: while both films did well, he would pay a price later, because people would be reluctant to see further entries in the series.
Twins, as the first outright comedy on either man's resume, would turn out to be something of a red herring for both of them.
The whole joke in Twins was established on the poster, and Schwarzenegger should have considered himself lucky that the joke was sustained for the length of the film.

If The Twins Effect came with any hype at all, it was that two cute girls would be occupying the screen with their enormous heads, and that there'd be some occasional fighting.

Even though the film pokes fun at the style of music it never demeans either the real participants of the musical style or people who are conjoined twins.
As the film focuses on the preparation and rehearsals the audience gets to witness how the young men are drawn into a world driven by the hope of fame and the temporary solace of drugs and alcohol.
The film shows how they have to cope with using their condition as a means to gain the fame they desire.

The film concerns twins Jane and Roxy (played by the Olsens), who are two very different sisters.
The film's last-minute messages of the importance of sisters watching over and being there for each other seems like a bit too much of an afterthought and even gets a little nauseating.

Twins follows two sets of one-year-old twins for three years.
Each set has one profoundly deaf twin who has been given a cochlear implant, and a hearing twin with whom their language development is compared.
By following the lives of the twins and their families, one of which is featured in Filmakers Library's Academy Award nominated film Sound and Fury, we witness the astonishing growth in the deaf children's speech and hearing as well as their integration and assimilation into mainstream life.

 The Twins Effect II (2004)
Everything about The Twins Effect II seems carefully calculated by marketing—except maybe the script, which is uninspired and dependent on too many semi-amusing interludes which are meant to pass for actual content.
However, when that film was reviewed last year, I managed to give it a passable "it's crap, but cute" review that basically said that the Twins were enough to save the film.
Granted, the costumes and art direction are intriguing, and the fantasy setting gives the film a "kid's flick" feel that's quite fitting for the Twins, who happen to be a big hit with the tykes.

This film could have easily degenerated into another shoot-em-up and chase scene type of story like we are used to seeing Schwarzenegger star in.
Even in his most violent and brutal film roles, Schwarzenegger was always able to introduce a little comedy dialog, for example the line "I'll be back" used in the Terminator movies.
This film is enjoyable because the comedy element takes top billing over the violence, and you have to be impressed with his versatility in making this film work.

At the time, Arnold Schwarzenegger being in a comedy was an intriguing idea, and making him Danny DeVito's twin was so far-fetched and silly, it was almost an intuitive premise to come up with.
