  The Twins Effect II
Though the 'Twins' return for the sequel, the genre tackled here is completely different; 'Twins Effect II' is a fantastical swordplay flick that takes places thousands of years in the past rather than a modern day comedy horror.
'Twins Effect II' cannot decide whether the narrative should be taken seriously or whether the tone should really be one of parody, while the appearance of two directors behind the lens clearly doesn't help the film's clarity.
Nonetheless, it's unfortunate that the concentration of the film is on the effects and the parochial 'comedy' and not the other virtues that used to be second-nature to Hong Kong cinema.

Are Twins Delayed in Language Development?
The conclusion, then, is that twins should not be considered a special population that is differentially at risk for the mere fact of being a twin.
The pervasive assumption of the inferiority of twins in language originates with two papers from the 1930's which remain two of the largest studies to date of the language of twins as a group.
Fourth, the twins in this study were not always observed independently (i.e., separately), and the fact that two children of the same age were competing for the attention of the experimenter may have led to shorter sentences.

The first Twins Effect was a number one grossing film in Hong Kong in 2003, so a follow-up proved to be an easy decision.
Twins 2 marks the debut of Jaycee Chan, son of international martial arts superstar, Jackie Chan, and while the resemblance is there, the physical talent is not, and neither is the comedic ability.
You need to have an extremely low threshold for entertainment to enjoy Twins Effect 2, and suffice it to say, the amount of people who will be blown away by the visual elements here probably rank in the millions around the world.

06.09.2003 - Close communication helps twins live longer
The twins analyzed in the study were part of the World War II Veterans Twins Registry - the largest twins registry studied to date - maintained by the National Research Council and the Institute of Medicine, which are part of the country's National Academies.
The difference in median life span between identical and fraternal twins is less than two years - 82 years versus 80.5 years - but the fact that close communication has an effect on the longevity of identical twins indicates there is something special about the relationship between identical twins.
Identical twins are monozygotic, that is, they split from the same egg and carry the same genes.

Blade of the Rose is the follow-up film to The Twins Effect, the Hong Kong action fantasy designed to exploit the popularity of pop stars Charlene Choi and Gillian Chung - aka "the twins".
In fact, most copies even include a little Twins Effect II on the DVD sleeve before the title.
This is more than a little misleading really, because apart from the title and a few of the stars Blade of the Rose is an entirely unrelated movie.

The Twins Effect (Chin Gei Bin/Vampire Effect) (2003)
Well, it should but it does not really, for whilst this is one of the silliest films you are ever likely to see, with a basic story that is not so much a story but a bunch of interconnected vignettes, it remains a largely enjoyable film despite all of its obvious flaws.
Part of the reason for that is that the Twins are actually Charlene Choi and Gillian Chung, who happen to be rather attractive women (a bit of an understatement there methinks), who actually give a fair fist of this, their third film together, that certainly means that it does not fall into the stinker category.

Screenplay: Jack Ng The Vampire Effect (aka The Twins Effect in its initial theatrical release, due to the starring bill of the Hong Kong superpop duo, The Twins) fills the niche created by Buffy the Vampire Slayer.
The Vampire Effect is a pure bubblegum vampire flick, meant more to serve up some charm and fun, but never really wanting you to take it seriously.
The special effects fill up much of the running length, and while they aren't exactly the best you'll see, for a non-Hollywood production, they are still very good.

However, The Twins Effect II is yet another example of what's wrong with the "big-budget" (relatively speaking) productions coming out of Hong Kong nowadays -- it just seems like the film-makers are throwing everything at the proverbial wall to see if anything sticks.
This is a nice-looking movie that has some good moments in it, but there's nothing here that really compels the viewer and actually pulls them into the film to make them truly care about the characters and what happens to them.
Mainland Chinese censors view vampires (the enemy in the previous installment) with a bad eye, and since the film-makers did not want to cut out any of the movie's potential market, the story for this film was changed to erase any reference to the undead.
