INEX: Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia (Electricity pylon)
The towers are usually steel lattices or truss es (wooden structures are used in Germany in exceptional cases) and the insulators are generally glass discs assembled in strings whose length is dependent on the line voltage and environmental conditions.
Pylons used for single phase AC railway traction lines are similar in construction to pylons used for 110 kV-three phase lines.
Twisting pylon s are anchor pylons at which the conductors are "twisted" so that they exchange sides of the pylon.

Limb with modular prosthetic components - Patent 7189264
To accomplish this, the pylon must be fully received within the tube clamp and there is no ability to longitudinally adjust the pylon with respect to the tube clamp.
A further drawback, given that the pylon is not longitudinally adjustable with respect to the tube clamp, is that there exists an inability to finely tune a conventional prosthetic limb.
Twisting the modules with respect to each other allows for the overall length of the prosthetic limb to be longitudinally adjusted and finely tuned to meet the needs of the person.

The pylon members are preferably interengaged and reciprocable one on the other, so that forces imposed on the pylon result in such reciprocation and the corresponding storage of energy in the spring element or elements.
Moreover, the pylon of the invention may be utilized in connection with any of a broad selection of prosthetic sockets for attachment to the wearer, as well as in connection with any of a broad selection of prosthetic feet attached to, or integrally formed with, the lower end of the pylon.
The pylon is characterized by an upper extremity adaptable for securement to the wearer's limb and a lower extremity adaptable for securement to a prosthetic foot, with the aforesaid energy-storing means such as one or more elongated spring elements interconnecting or acting between the two extremities.

At the pylon, the stay cables might be anchored to inclined, secondary diaphragms extending between the two longitudinal side plates of the pylon, as illustrated in Figure 15 for a pylon supporting a modified fan.

This slop was from a combination of excess space between the strap and the wing skin...from the use of the thicker metal tape as mold release.

Electricity pylons require to be repainted, with two coats, on a regular basis.
When a pylon is being painted, the men who are assigned this task do not have the luxury of having the power switched off, so the wires keep on buzzing, dangerously, all the while.
So, what is needed is some means of conveniently attaching painter to pylon, without ropes trailing, and in such a way as to allow the painter to quickly detach and re-attach.

Easter, originally known for his knob twisting with the likes of R.E.M., the Bongos, Pylon, the dBs and Beat Rodeo, has turned Let's Active into a tight little vehicle for his distinctive, idiosyncratic pop songs, which are melodic, textured, haunting and nearly irresistible.
The EP Afoot was the first waxing from the band (then a three-piece, with Easter, Hunter and drummer Sara Romweber, who left last fall "for the usual reasons"), released in the fall of '83.
Let's Active was formed at the end of 1981 (although they weren't signed to a label for two years), and a couple of weeks later played their first gig, opening for R.E.M. in Atlanta.
