Filmography - Two for the Road
Two for the Road is an amazing and surprising story by and for grown ups and unfortunately not all Audrey Hepburn fans seem to like this movie.
Two for the Road ended with a shocking, two-word exchange between the two stars-shocking, at least, for an Audrey Hepburn film, and the closest thing to profanity in any of her films:
Two for the Road did moderately well at the box office - better in Europe than in America, where it was handled as a kind of "art film," just beyondmainstream appeal.

Film/Classic: Two for the Road   (Site not responding. Last check: 2007-10-11)
"Two for the Road" is a witty, sardonic and slick look at marriage that is distinguished by great performances by Albert Finney as Mark Wallace, a young architect, and Audrey Hepburn, as Joanna, his wife.
The only drawback in the film is the couple's insufferable road trip with one of the architect's old flames, played by Eleanor Bron, and her husband, played by William Daniels and their obnoxious young daughter.
Hepburn has a brief affair with a man Finney has met and the scenes in which Finney comes upon the two of them at a café and then when Hepburn returns to their hotel room are particularly sensitive and fascinating.

But certainly, the Apollo Sunshine that progresses from its jukebox karaoke show to tearing up the pool room at the Harp, a little roadside bar in Amherst, is at least as much honest-to-God rock 'n' roll band as it is artsy, avant-pop ensemble.

"Two for the Road" is a time capsule of Carnaby Street fashion and French new wave scene juxtaposition, but it remains timeless in its emotionally piercing view of marriage and in the beguiling presence of Audrey Hepburn.
What makes the evolution more impressive is that the story is not a linear narrative but rather a series of five road trips that volley the viewer back and forth in the relationship.
