Stream in London, England, near which (at the junction of the present Oxford Street and Edgware Road) Tyburn gallows stood from the 12th century until 1783.
A tributary of the River Thames, the Tyburn was formed originally by the confluence of two streams from the Hampstead heights.
The first recorded execution using the Tyburn gallows took place in 1196, the last in 1783, after which the place of execution was moved to Newgate Prison.
