USATODAY.com asked readers to share their thoughts with Tyler Hamilton, whose Olympic gold medal, reputation and cycling future were called into question this week with the revelation that initial samples from Athens and the Vuelta a Espana had shown evidence of blood from another person, which would constitute a doping offense.
Hamilton's team, Phonak, has said that the "B" sample from the Vuelta a Espana is positive, but the team plans to convene a panel of scientists to review the tests.
With Hamilton vowing to fight for his reputation and Phonak casting aspersions on the tests, the case is likely to drag on in arbitration for some time.

Tyler Hamilton (born March 1, 1971 in Marblehead, Massachusetts) is an American professional road bicycle racer.
Hamilton’s defense claimed that the UCI-sanctioned test was insufficiently validated (and may therefore have returned a false positive result) and that some of the agencies involved had concealed documents that would have supported his case.
Hamilton is now banned from competition until September 22, 2006, two years from the date his "B" sample taken in the Vuelta a España was found to be positive.

Hamilton's case was the first based on a test designed to detect the presence of someone else's red blood cells in a sample.
Hamilton won't be able to race competitively until April 2007, when he would be 36 years old.
