The Royal Navy ordered the Type 22 frigate in 3 batches.
For anti surface warfare, the Type 22 batch 1 and 2 carries 4 MM38 Exocet missiles, which were used to devastating effect by the Argentine's during the war for the Falklands.
Batch 1 was called the Broadsword class, Batch 2 Boxer class and batch 3, Cornwall class.

HMS Cornwall is the first Type 22 Batch 3 Frigate, designed to detect and destroy submarines at long range using bow mounted 'active' and towed-array 'passive' sonars, plus torpedoes fired from a triple tubes or dropped from the ship's helicopter.
HMS Cornwall, the sixth Royal Navy ship to bear the name is the lead vessel of the new Eight Frigate Squadron consisting of her sister ships HMS Cumberland, Campbeltown and Chatham.
She is the first RN ship to be fitted with Harpoon anti-ship missiles, giving her an extensive 'over the horizon' anti-surface capability.

You are correct about the Goalkeeper system, the internal arrangement of the Type 23 at present would prevent it from being fitted to the superstructure without a significant refit.

The Exocet missile launcher has been removed from the batch 2 Type 22 Frigate HMS Sheffield because the variant of the missile used by the RN is now obsolete and no longer in Naval service.
HMS Brilliant was the third of the Type 22 frigates commissioned by the Royal Navy.
Two of the Batch 1 frigates (HMS BROADSWORD and HMS BRILLIANT) served with distinction in the Falkland's war and HMS BRILLIANT was the subject of a BBC documentary shortly before she was decommissioned.
