Proposal for Cinnamon Tyrant: "Cinnamon Tyrant" seems to be gathering increasing support as the name for this species with the passage of time, with HBW an important publication in this context.
I feel that is the most appropriate name and the fact that M and P, who clarified the relationships of this taxon, suggested the name is all the more reason to follow their suggestion.

 Birding in Peru
Many of these regional endemics are also Peruvian endemics such as White-winged Guan, Tumbes Tyrant, Rufous Flycatcher, Peruvian Plantcutter, but most are shared with southern Ecuador, for example: Ecuadorean Piculet, Short-tailed Woodstar, Henna-hooded Foliage-gleaner, Watkin's Antpitta, Pacific Elaenia, Ochraceous Attila, White-tailed Jay, Peruvian Swallow, Tumbes Sparrow, Sulphur-throated Finch.
The subtropical Yungas, also along the eastern face of the Andes, are in the departments of Cuzco, Apurímac, Puno and Arequipa and harbor many of the species from Bolivian Yungas and some Peru endemics.
Tropical Amazonia North of the Amazon: The Amazonian lowlands of Peru are part of the vast Amazon basin, a region whose uniform green appearance conceals a complex and diverse pattern of lowland forest types.

We were very fortunate in locating both the Masked Antpitta and Rufous-sided Pygmy Tyrant in just a few days as well as seeing some other fantastic Amazonian bird species.
As if things couldn't get any better Keith located a superb Flame-crowned Manakin that was joined by a female, both remaining on view for a considerable period of time.
One male only of this superb Manakin species at Hamburgo in the forest adjacent to the lake.

 Manakin family
Molecular studies have shown it is not a manakin but (probably) a sister taxa of the various tyranid groups.
Yet it is the plumage, vocalizations, and behavior of the understory manakins that causes the greatest wonder.
On my first trip to South America, the most impressive manakin was the Wire-tailed Manakin (right) of the western Amazon basin; this photo was taken by tour companion John Luther way back in 1975 (and has lost some sharpness in making a duplicate slide, but the bright colors are still apparent).

The third day of the tour saw us heading down in altitude (1100m), to an area of foothill cloudforest on the outskirts of Los Bancos, where the Mindo Cloudforest Foundation have recently established the Milpe Bird Sanctuary, centred within the Chocó Endemic Bird Area.
As we walked towards the start of the forest trail their bizarre display 'song' could be heard well before we entered the forest.
Manakins put on a good show too with Golden-headed, Dwarf-Tyrant and the wonderful Wire-tailed Manakin all seen.

 Tanager Tours - Bird Watching Tours in Peru - Trip Reports
The Ocelot Trail, covering a 300 hundred year old sample of floodplain forest, your stereotypical "rain forest", is a good birding trail for forest birds and some wading and lakeside birds which live close to the small freshwater ponds.
Finally the palm swamp at the edge of these hills houses a few species that are hard or impossible to find in other habitats, principally Striped Woodcreeper, Dull-rumped Attila and the Point-tailed Palmcreeper, an elegant ovenbird which is rarely found outside palm swamps.
The succesional strip of forest between TRC and the Tambopata river beach corresponds to what is known as lower floodplain forest or zabolo houses Dark Crested and Plain-crowned Spinetails, Starred Wood-Quail, Speckled Chachalaca, Ladder-Tailed Nightjar, Yellow-browed Tyrant, and Orange-headed Tanager.

 Minas Gerais Trip Report - 2004
This is a beautiful spot where the small river goes from meandering through the grass to tumbling through rocky rapids to its precipitous drop off the cliff.
We ate lunch at the start of the rapids, where we found a Sharp-tailed Streamcreeper (George was particularly pleased), a pair of Green Kingfishers, and a Bat Falcon that most of us mistook for an Aplomado.
Manakins were in evidence, with one Blue and three Pin-tailed seen well by most.

 Birding in Suriname - Otte Ottema
Three species of birds which are thought to be rare are actually common in this type of habitat: Bronzy Jacamar, Black Manakin and Saffron-crested Tyrant-manakin.
The nest of the Black Manakin on the photo, made here by Foek Chin Joe, is the second nest ever found of this species.
The song of the Red-legged Tinamou is almost constantly heard during the morning hours.

 Saffron-crested Tyrant-manakin in Suriname
These manakins are more often heard than seen (sound of the song and the call recorded by Foek Chin Joe on the same place in february 2004).
They have a yellow patch on their heads (just visible) red eyes (not really clear to see here) and a yellow belly (that's easy).
The color of each square indicates: blue for coastal area, yellow for savanna and red for rainforest.

 Toucan Tours Tour reports
En route ‘incidentals’ included Brown Jacamar and Red-legged Seriema and Chapada was superb birding: Horned Sungem, Olive-crowned Crescentchest, White-rumped and White-banded Tanagers, Chapada Flycatcher, Rufous-winged and Planalto Slaty-Antshrikes, Fiery-capped Manakin and Rufous-sided Pygmy-Tyrant.
For most it was the end of the tour but four, including myself, had opted for a chance to see Cherry-throated Tanagers.
After spending as much time possible with the birds - they stayed in a tree perched for 20 minutes or so while the rest of the flock moved on - we moved to another part of the forest fragments.

Yellow flowers rain from the crown of a tall vochysia tree as a little spotted cat pounces on an olive green Serro do Mar tyrannulet high in the canopy above.
Other small birds, such as the Serro do Mar Tyrant-manakin, flits through the understory, while a fl-capped manakin hops about on a small cassia tree trying to attract a mate.
This area is also home to the golden lion tamarin, a small and endangered primate known for its radiant gold-orange fur.

The rarest of all is the Fringe-backed Fire-eye, and we’ll have a good chance of seeing this bird as we work our way through the foothills toward the coast.
Red-shouldered Macaw, Golden-capped Parakeet and Golden-tailed Parrotlet are possible in the canopy here, and Blue-backed and White-bearded Manakins, Stripe-necked Tody-Tyrant and Pale-bellied Tyrant-Manakin can be seen at the lower levels.
Tuft-eared Marmoset, a tiny monkey with white tufts comically spiking from its ears, is not uncommon.

We spent the remainder of the morning searching for other endemics before returning for lunch and the final afternoon in the grounds of the lodge.
The group spent the early part of the morning around the lodge before departing back to Rio for their flight home at 09.30.
