It appears the GAA was keen for the clash to be Croke's first floodlit game rather than Ireland's Six Nations rugby match against France on 11 February.
Earlier this month, the GAA announces that it had received planning permission to install the floodlighting system and added that they would be in operation in time for the opening Six Nations game.
As the fixtures stand at the moment, Tyrone's opening four matches are scheduled to be Saturday night affairs under lights - including the home games against Fermanagh (10 February) and Donegal (10 March).
