The U of T Formula SAE Racing Team streaked to another first-place finish at this year’s Formula Student U.K. Championship, held in Bruntingthorpe, near Leicester, U.K., on July 5 to 8.
Other teams involve faculty members, but the U of T team is a student-run enterprise: “This win shows the world we are one of the top teams and legitimizes our design philosophy,” said Daniel Zanini, the team’s business manager.
Of the 20-member U of T team, all from the Faculty of Applied Science and Engineering, 13 students participated in the U.K. race: Nadia Boin (team leader), Nilufar Damji, Antonio Gomes, Huang Iu, Vedran Juric, Jason Kao, Kevin Key, Stefan Kloppenborg, Maggie Lafreniere, Vince Libertucci, Neal Persaud, Andrew Wong and Daniel Zanini.

It is probably correct that a dearth of post-9/11 attacks on US soil have allowed most Americans to slowly lose the sense of purpose they discovered on that terrible Tuesday morning.
I think that most disciples of the "we end them or they'll end us" school of thought know, in their heart-of-hearts, that the battle with al Qaeda is about preventing the deaths of Americans, and not of America itself.
