The 25th Division Artillery was initially composed of the 8th, 64th and 89th Field Artillery Battalions formed from the 8th Field Artillery Regiment, and the 90th Field Artillery Battalion formed from the 1st Battalion, 11th Field Artillery Regiment, Hawaiian Division.
In 1975 the 2nd Battalion was assigned to the 5th Infantry Division as a howitzer battalion and reactivated at Fort Polk.
On 1 February 1957 the battalion was relieved from assignment to the 25th Infantry Division and inactivated at Schofield Barracks on 14 December 1957.

 California's Own: The History of the 40th Infantry Division
The division was reconstituted on 18 June 1926 with its headquarters in Berkeley.
In response to the war in Europe, the California's 40th Infantry Division was mobilized on 3 March 1941 and sent to Camp San Luis Obispo where it remained, except for divisional maneuvers at Fort Lewis, Washington, until the attack on Pearl Harbor.
In February of 1942, the division was reorganized from the old four regiment "square" division to the three regiment "triangular" division.

 History of the 7th Infantry Division
The Bayonet--or the 7th Infantry Division, as it is officially known--continued to stand guard in Korea, manning our outpost line in strife-ridden Korea until 1971 when the Division was returned to US soil for the first time since 1943.
Initially the Division in 1940 consisted of two infantry regiments destined to remain in the 7th--the 17th and 32nd; and one that was not, the 53rd.
In column with the Marines, the elements of the 7th Division which were in or around Koto ri had to fight their way south to the Hamhung perimeter in a blinding snowstorm with the enemy dogging at them all the way, sniping at them from the ridgelines, and getting closer with each passing hour.

Comments: To my knowledge the 77th Med Tank Battalion was stationed on the northern island of Japan and was split into the 17th, 31st, and 32nd Infantry Divisions as tank companies when the Korean War broke out.
I was with the 77th tank battalion in Japan and I understand we were the last ones to leave the 77th and be attached to the 31st Inf.
A W.O. was put in charge of the 77th Tank Battalion on paper, and he also went to Korea with the rest of us in the 31st in September of 1950.

 History of the 25th Infantry Division
The Division held its ground and the assault was repulsed; the brunt of the attack was absorbed by the 14th Infantry, "Golden Dragons".

The Japanese caused heavy Marine casualties, hemmed in the American beachhead, and forced the early and unceremonious commitment of the 77th Division (later referred to admiringly as the "77th Marines") from corps reserve.

I have learned indirectly from Sgt. Shearer of the very woeful act you performed in order to give my brother a burial and in recognition of this, I am writing to thank you for what you did and to express our gratitude.
The knowledge that he was buried has been a comfort and consolation to us, especially by the boys of his own company who fought with him.
