The New Jersey Turnpike is a toll road in New Jersey and is one of the most heavily traveled highways in the United States.
The New Jersey Department of Transportation (which calls every class of highway Route) calls the western spur Route 95W.
In November 2004, acting New Jersey Governor Richard Codey advocated a plan to widen the Turnpike, extending the dual-dual configuration 20.1 miles south from exit 8A to exit 6, by 2011, when the Pennsylvania Turnpike is supposed to complete an interchange that will connect its road to the existing I-95 in Bucks County.

MSN Encarta - Search View - Rhode Island
Rhode Island’s economic boom of the mid-1980s was followed by a sharp recession beginning in 1989, during which the state’s credit union system collapsed, property values plummeted, unemployment rose, and thousands of manufacturing jobs were lost, even in the jewelry industry.
Rhode Island was the last of the original 13 states to ratify the Constitution and did so with the narrowest margin, a vote of 34 to 32 on May 29, 1790.
Rhode Island has a humid continental climate, but the extremes of winter cold and summer heat usually associated with this type of climate are moderated in Rhode Island by the Atlantic Ocean and Narragansett Bay.

NPC Online Library: Highway Traffic Noise in the United States: Problem and Response
Highway traffic noise research has been guided and continues to be guided by representatives of State highway agencies, other State government agencies, local government agencies, Federal agencies, and the academic and private sectors.
Highway construction noise should generally be addressed in a qualitative rather than quantitative manner that is commensurate with the scope of the highway project.
State highway agencies either use the FHWA model for highway traffic noise analysis or a model based upon the same methodology as that contained in the FHWA model.

Observational surveys conducted in June by the Division of Highway Traffic Safety have determined that the state’s seat belt usage rate has risen to an all-time high of 81.2%.
According to Division of Highway Traffic Safety Director Roberto Rodriguez, a key reason for the latest increase in the usage rate was the high visibility enforcement of New Jersey’s Primary Seat Belt law during May’s “Click It or Ticket” statewide enforcement campaign.
The Mission of the Division of Highway of Highway Traffic Safety is to reduce fatalities, injuries and property damage on the roads of New Jersey resulting from traffic crashes.

Beginning at the Interstate 278 interchange (EXIT 13) with the New Jersey Turnpike (I-95) in Elizabeth, the proposed NJ 81 Freeway will extend north parallel to the turnpike, then extend northwest to the vicinity of McClellan Street in Newark.
By the time construction began in 1979, the route of the NJ 81 Freeway was shortened to 1.2 miles.

 New Jersey Expressways and Tollways
The New Jersey Turnpike mainline from Exit 7A to Exit 15, the New Jersey Turnpke Northern Extension, and the Bergen-Passaic Expressway connect continuously with both split routes.
However, the New Jersey Turnpike signs the Western Spur as I-95's thru routing, while the Eastern Spur is signed as going to I-80, US 46, and the Lincoln Tunnel.
In New Jersey, the route of I-95 splits in two places, resulting in the existance of an "Eastern Route" and a "Western Route".

A beautiful island showcase, it is one of the few remaining undeveloped barrier islands in the state.
The park is comprised of six islands with a total of approximately 650 upland acres and more than 1,100 acres of surrounding mangroves and grass flats.
You can explore the south end of the island by wading across a shallow tidal slough towards a sand to your east or by looking for a spur of the nature trail which comes out to the beach a few tenths of miles north of the piling.
