In a letter to Beatrice from Berlin on 26 September 1910, en route to Brünn, he writes about the "rather vexing" problem with the costume.
Such a state of affairs was unthinkable to the pious naturalists of the eighteenth century, and Kölreuter, who did not doubt that plant hybrids can be produced, was sure that nature has her own ways of preventing them from producing fresh species.
She said one source states that Drill Hall was located on Jane Street in the Westminster section of London.

In 1935, the Roxbury Route 131 became Route 199; and modern Route 131 was created in Thompson, connecting to already-existing MA 131.

 Encyclopedia: United States Highway 66
US Highway 66 or Route 66 was and is the most famous road in the United States highway system and quite possibly the most famous and storied highway in the world.
With its essentially flat course and favorable weather, the highway became popular as a truck route, thus contributing to the growth of that industry.
In fact, Kansas, with its roughly thirteen-mile-long (21 km) stretch of US 66 slicing off the southeast corner of the state near the Missouri and Oklahoma state lines, was totally bypassed by the late 1940s as part of a quicker, shorter route to Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Michigan Highways: Highways 20 through 29
Also in April, M-20 route marker assemblies had been erected at the US-131 and 8 Mile Rd interchange (Exit 131) near Stanwood, as well as a solitary M-20 marker on the east side of White Cloud.
The route of B-88 in its entirety (from White Cloud to US-131 at Stanwood) was then redesignated as M-20.
The resultant gap in M-20 between Stanwood and Big Rapids was filled by running M-20 concurrently with US-131 between Exits 131 and 139.

From the cnr of Westnedge Ave and U Ave, US-131 now turns northeasterly via Shaver Ave to Oakland Dr. The former route via U Ave easterly from Westnedge and Oakland Dr northerly from U Ave to Shaver Rd is turned back to local control.
However, since some point in the early-to-mid-1970s, I-296 has not been signed in the field, although the portion of US-131 from I-196 /Gerald R Ford Frwy downtown northerly to I-96 / M-37 north of the city remains officially an Interstate with the "secret" route designation of I-296.
When the U.S. Highway system is laid out, all of M-13 from the Indiana line northerly to a point between Fife Lake and Kingsley in southeastern Grand Traverse Co (cnr present-day M-113, Keffer Rd and Van's Ln) is designated as US-131.

U.S. Highway 31 - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
US 31 is the parent route of U.S. Highway 131, almost entirely in Michigan; U.S. Highway 231, which comes within a few miles of connecting Lake Michigan and the Gulf of Mexico; and U.S. Highway 331, connecting Montgomery, Alabama with Santa Rosa Beach, Florida.
Ironically, the old southern terminus of US 31 in Mobile lies slightly to the north of Spanish Fort due to the path of the Bankhead Tunnel, which also carried US 90 and US 98, which remain designations for the route along the tunnel.
Interstate 196 now carries the route of US 31 between Holland, Michigan and St.

California @ WestCoastRoads - U.S. Highway 101 - San Francisco and Marin County
East California 131 follows Tiburon Boulevard en route to Tiburon, which is located at the tip of a peninsula.
The route from U.S. 101 to California 121 is an expressway, and the section of the route (former California 48) between California 121 and just west of the Vallejo city limits is merely a two-lane highway with passing lanes and a barrier between the two directions of traffic.
Administered by the Golden Gate Bridge and Highway District, the bridge is not maintained by Caltrans, even though it carries two state highways (U.S. 101 and California 1) across the Golden Gate.

Most surprising of all, only in Indianola is the street carrying the highway called Jefferson Street, which suggests that the Jefferson Highway did not make quite the impression on the minds of citizens along the route that the Lincoln Highway did.
Still strewn along the route are many gas station buildings which obviously survive from the 1920s but have long been abandoned or converted to other uses.
Using early guidebooks, we followed the original route, except where road abandonments or other changes made that impossible.

U.S. Highway 181 - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
United States Highway 181 (US 181), a north-south route, is one of many intrastate United States Highways in the United States.
Prior to the Interstate era, US 181 traveled into downtown San Antonio along Presa St. (parts of which are now Texas State Spur 122) to an intersection with its parent route, US 81.
As of 2004, the highway's northern terminus is at an intersection with Interstate 37 a mile (1.6 km) south of San Antonio, Texas ' Interstate 410 loop, about 12 miles (19 km) northeast of Floresville.

 Connecticut Routes 130-134
Route 131 is small enough on a map that early in my research, I thought it was defined in the 1920s, like MA 131.
In the 1920s, state highway 130 was the numbering for Route 63 between Routes 4 and 64.
Shortly afterward, Route 67 was moved from Clapboard Road to New Milford Road East, and Route 133 was extended along Main Street North (part of the old 67) to end at the new alignment.

 US Highway 131
My guess is that Indiana never went for US 131 because they felt it wasn't worth adding onto their roster of routes.
US 112 went from Elkhart to Detroit and was thus worth trying to hold onto; I don't think they felt the same way about a connection to Traverse City (especially with the US route system expanding throughout the 1930's).
US 131 has always been a parenthetical road in Indiana, when it has been in Indiana.

Michigan Highway Ends U.S. Route 131
US 131 enters into Michigan as a two-lane route up through its southern junction with M-60.
The northern terminus of US 131 is at its parent route, US 31, in Petoskey.
Generally, US 131 is never more than 50 miles to the east of its parent route, US 31.

 TABLE OF CONTENTS
At Tiburon Boulevard (Route 131)/Blithedale Avenue, approximately 2,600 persons were observed in vehicles in the southbound HOV lane during the A.M. peak hour, with approximately 6,750 persons, or 2,250 persons per lane traveling in the southbound mixed-flow lanes.
The current limits of the HOV lanes are between Route 1 in the south to Route 37 in the north.
U.S. 101 north and south of the project limits is an 8-lane facility, 3 lanes being mixed flow and one High Occupancy Vehicle (HOV) lane in each direction between Route 1 and Route 37.

 Tourism Matters - Spring 2001
Michigan Department of Transportation recently received Federal Transportation Enhancement funds to prepare Scenic Corridor Management Plans for US 131 and I-69 in Southwest Michigan.
Tourism is widely recognized to be a large industry in Michigan, yet the depth and breadth of its contributions and linkages to other economic sectors (e.g., agriculture, forestry, retail) community development and quality of life are not generally understood nor its importance appreciated.
Speaking before a group of high-tech savvy members of ITS Michigan last spring, MEDC President Doug Rothwell suggested that the Great Lakes State is in the perfect position to gain world class status with Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS).
