William John "Billy" Donovan (born May 30, 1965 in Rockville Centre, New York, United States) is a basketball coach who has taken the University of Florida men's team to 2 NCAA Final Fours in 2000 and 2006, the 2000 national championship game, and the 2006 NCAA championship with a 73-57 win over the UCLA Bruins.
At age 40, Donovan became the second-youngest coach in history to win the national championship, behind only the legendary Bob Knight, who led Indiana University to the 1976 championship (and a 32-0 record, the last undefeated season in NCAA men's basketball) at the age of 35.
Donovan took the team to the National Invitation Tournament in his second season, 1997-1998.

UCLA will honor Gail Goodrich at Pauley Pavilion this weekend by retiring his No. 25 jersey at halftime of its men's basketball game against Michigan.
Goodrich's number will be the seventh retired by UCLA, joining: Ed O'Bannon (31); Bill Walton (32); Lew Alcindor, now Kareem Abdul-Jabbar (33); Sidney Wicks (35); Walt Hazzard (42); and Marques Johnson (54).
That was the second of UCLA's 11 national championships, and Goodrich was the leading scorer on the first two.

FRANK LUBIN - A four-year basketball letterman from 1928-31 playing for Coach "Caddy" Works, the 6'7" Lubin, one of basketball's original "big men", earned All-Pacific Coast Conference acclaim his senior year.
Lubin was joined on the 1936 Berlin Olympic team by other UCLA stand-outs Sam Balter, Carl Knowles, Don Piper and Carl Shy and helped lead the United States to their first of seven consecutive Olympic Gold Medals.
In 1936, Universal plowed through qualifying tournaments and eventually won an eight-team national final which earned them the right to fill half of the 14-man U.S. Olympic roster.
