The format of UEFA's summer competition, the UEFA Intertoto Cup, will change for the 2006/07 season, following a decision taken by the UEFA Executive Committee at its meeting in Rome on Wednesday.
The eleven victorious teams from the Intertoto Cup third round will go through to the second qualifying round of the UEFA Cup.
Under the current system in the competition, which was launched in the summer of 1995, sides have played five rounds, with three final winners progressing to the UEFA Cup first round.

UEFA have announced that clubs in the Champions League and UEFA Cup will have to include up to eight 'homegrown' players in their 25-man squads.
The new rule for European competitions will be introduced from the 2006-07 season with clubs needing to include a minimum of four homegrown players in a squad.
European football's ruling body will also press ahead with plans for the measure to be adopted in domestic competitions - although that has yet to be agreed by the national associations.
