The UEFA Intertoto Cup is a summer competition, previously operated by several Central European football associations, which was relaunched by UEFA in 1995 as a qualifying competition for the UEFA Cup.
UEFA have been reviewing the format of the UEFA Cup since the Champions League was expanded from 24 to 32 teams in 1999.
UEFA are hosting a workshop of Europe's leading clubs in the first week of February, when the future of the UEFA Cup will be discussed fully and UEFA's Executive Committee is likely to decide on the competition's future in March or April.

The national team coefficient is the least known UEFA coefficient, derived from the results of the national football team of a nation.
The league coefficient is used to rank the leagues of Europe, and thus determine the number of clubs from a league that will participate in competitions such as the UEFA Cup and the UEFA Champions League.
This ranking is used by the UEFA the determine which pot the club belongs to in the preliminary and first rounds of the Champions League, and the preliminary, first and second rounds of the UEFA Cup.

Well, maybe, remember the UEFA Cup is being revamped for the 2004/5 season, and now there are 2 qualifying rounds.
Had the UEFA Cup kept its format for next season, it would have meant that our Cup Winner would start in the 1st round instead of qualifying, our 2nd placed team would start in qualifying still, while we would add the 3rd placed team, also starting in qualifying.
I could be totally wrong, as I am most of the time, but I do not expect any of our clubs to qualify for the CL on a regular basis in the near future.
