UHF (film) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
UHF (also known as The Vidiot from UHF in Australia and parts of Europe, and Los Telelocos in Mexico) is a comedy film made in 1989.
After much pleading from fans, the movie was rereleased in Europe and North America on DVD in 2002 by MGM, and in its debut week it became a top ten bestseller in Variety.
According to Yankovic on the UHF DVD commentary track, the two scenes that earned the movie a PG-13 rating from the MPAA are the scene with poodles being thrown out the window, and the scene where Joe Earley (played by Emo Philips) accidentally cuts his thumb off with a table saw.

 UHF (1989)
UHF, which was partially written by Weird Al tells the tale of George Newman (of course played by Weird Al) as young man who goes from one dead end job to another and seems to have a rather difficult time keeping his over active imagination in check.
UHF is presented on a double-sided disc sporting both a full frame 4:3 version as well as the original theatrical 1.85:1 version.
UHF has the reputation of being somewhat of a cult favorite and surprisingly the film still holds up rather well - despite having a lot of pop culture references to the music and films of the 80’s.

Mutant Reviewers from Hell do "UHF"
UHF is all this to me. Even if this movie were nothing but the *commercial* parodies alone, it would be fully worth the price of admission (whether it's saying "I love you with the gift of a spatula" or seeing the results of a shoddy cemetary, they're some of the best bits in this film).
In the first part of UHF while George is imagining being in Raiders of the Lost Ark, one of his trusty sidekicks pulls a gun on him while he's not looking.
UHF was filmed in Tulsa, OK, and made $6.16 million in the theaters.

 DVD Review: UHF
It's one of those films that is predestined to be a cult movie even before it hit theaters.
The soundtrack is also fairly limited due to the budget.
Final Thoughts: Admittedly, the wackiness of "UHF" isn't going to be everyone's comedic cup-of-tea, but for fans of the film (or people who enjoy the style of "Naked Gun"/Zucker Brothers style of humor), MGM has produced a terrific DVD edition, offering a pretty decent presentation and lots of enjoyable and amusing supplements.

UHF - Original Motion Picture Soundtrack and Other Stuff - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
UHF - Original Motion Picture Soundtrack and Other Stuff (1989), sometimes referred to simply as UHF, is the soundtrack to the comedy cult film UHF, by "Weird Al" Yankovic.
The album featured many music cuts from the movie as well as some of the commercials ("Spatula City") and other parody bits ("Gandhi II").
This is the second longest version, the longest being in the movie itself, during the credits crawl, and the shortest being released on later albums such as Greatest Hits Volume II.

UHF was released in 1989, and I was very much a “Weird Al” Yankovic fan at the time (still am, actually; just not quite to the obsessive degree that I was then).
UHF, on the other hand, manages to remain humorous and (more importantly) entertaining all the way through.
Audio: UHF is presented with a dolby 2.0 surround soundtrack, and it’s effective.

UHF was actually believed to be a pretty good movie, but UHF was released during a year of blockbuster movies such as Batman.
The soundtrack, as the name implies, has songs and sound clips from the movie: UHF, Spatula City, Let Me Be Your Hog, Money For Nothing/Beverly Hillbillies, Gandhi II, and Fun Zone.
However, a soundtrack would not be complete with six tracks, so Al, Steve, and Jim recorded seven more songs: Attack of the Radioactive Hamsters From A Planet Near Mars, Isle Thing, Hot Rocks Polka, She Drives Like Crazy, Generic Blues, Spam, and Biggest Ball of Twine in Minnesota.

UHF was a flop, but it was also a great movie.
This album was released in 1989, and is in part the soundtrack to "Weird Al" Yankovic's movie UHF, but most of its contents is not included in the movie.
On this album, included in the movie, is the song "Money For Nothing/Beverly Hillbillies," the movie's theme "UHF," two clips from the movie, and an instrumental called "Fun Zone." All of those are quite good.

It's been a while since I've seen the movie, but I have the soundtrack and the Spatula City ad is on it.
I counted only 19 usages of the word "Spatula." I believe that the version on the soundtrack is verbatim to the movie, but I could be wrong.
In the film version of the Spatula City commercial, there are only twenty uses of the word "spatula" (the soundtrack version omits the first usage, thus, leaving nineteen), so the ever-so-loved twenty-seven egg was not applied here.

IGN: House of 1000 Corpses Review
Written and Directed by Rob Zombie, lead singer of the band White Zombie, this film has been described as a return to "real" horror movies, so gory that Universal wouldn't release it and so disturbing that theaters would have to have counselors ready to talk down distraught patrons.
Spaulding has the potential to be one of those great cult horror movie characters but Zombie just abandons him for much of the film, choosing instead to focus on a group of backwoods psychos that look like they were lifted right out of a Texas Chainsaw Massacre sequel.
As it is, there are times when the film just takes itself and its parade of old horror movie clichés way too seriously to be any fun.
