Faithless new album debuts at No 1 on the UK Albums Chart this week and the Britain's premier musical collective band ...
NO ROOTS debuted in the UK at No 1 on the UK sales chart this week, and is the fourth album from Faithless, who have sold in excess of 6 million albums, over 4 million singles, and have over 30 gold or platinum disks world-wide.
The album also sees Faithless at their most melodic and emotional: the usual beauty in electronics, augmented by guitars, dub bass lines and rock solid grooves.
All the songs are written in the key of 'c' and it was only after the whole album had been made as an instrumental piece by Rollo and Sister Bliss that it was played to Maxi, LSK and Dido.

UK Albums Chart - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The UK Albums Chart is a chart of the sales positions of albums in the United Kingdom.

UK Singles Chart - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The precise number is debatable due to the profusion of different competing charts during the 1950s, 1960s, 1970s and 1980s, although the usual list used is that endorsed by the Guinness Book of British Hit Singles and subsequently adopted by The Official UK Charts Company.
To add to the confusion, the chart used by the BBC on their popular shows Pick of the Pops and Top Of The Pops was actually calculated by averaging out all the others, and so didn't agree with any of them, and was prone to tied positions.
An effect of this competition for high chart positions is that a number of high-profile "battles" have taken place in which singles released on the same day have become the focus of media attention concerning which will sell the most copies in their first week and therefore enter the chart higher.

Queen Declared Most Successful Albums Act UK Chart History
Their remaining members may be incurring the wrath of all that is good and proper in rock history by going out on tour sans Messers Mercury and Deacon, but Queen are now officially the most successful albums act in UK chart history.
