UK History was launched on 30th October 2002, to coincide with the launch of the Freeview digital terrestrial television platform.
Along with the rest of the network, the "UK" prefix was changed to "UKTV" on 8th March 2004 and is thus now known as UKTV History.
Unlike the other UKTV channels, UKTV History is not a subscription channel but is free to air on all digital platforms.

The degree of effectiveness is partly controlled by rotating the filter and it's not always desirable to have it at full blast, especially when photographing a blue sky on a wide-angle lens as it can make one side of the image noticeably darker than the other.
UKTV History is on our Freeview box on channel 12.
I assume that it shows the same programmes as the UKTV ones are all from the BBC.

UKTV History is probably the QUALITY channel on Freeview, yes they have slipped into lazy scheduling, but most of their output is not popularist drivel and sometimes might make even you think.

u/k history is missing from my tivo since reshuffle, it is supposed to be there but just skips the channel, is this missing on all tivos, have the politicaly correct lobby had it removed so as not to upset our friends across the channel.
I live on the highest part of one of the highest towns in the country, the aerial is only 3yrs old and on the roof, picture strength and quality are top class.
Tivo tells me that ch11 is sky travel, and ch12 is uktv history, both are ticked, thomson freeview does not list ch11 or 12, i have done replace excisting services several times to no avail, i have also done add new services and found to be none added.
