The 7th Armored Division was an armored division of the United States Army in World War II.
The 7th then shifted to Holland, where on 8 October it joined in defensive operations protecting the British-Canadian drive to clear the northern and western approaches to Antwerp.

The 7th Panzer Divison was one of the outstanding armored units of World War II, and became famous during the Battle of France in 1940 with Erwin Rommel as its commander.
Within hours he encountered a French division of Char Bs, who had run their fuel tanks dry in their attemp to reach the battlefield.
The 37mm guns were quite unable to make any impression on the armor of the Char B, so Rommel called up Stuka dive-bombers to destroy the French and set off for the west.
