Kentucky is known as the "Bluegrass State", a nickname based on the fact that bluegrass is present in much of the lawns and pastures throughout the state.
Kentucky was a battleground during the war; the Battle of Blue Licks, one of the last major battles of the Revolution, was fought in Kentucky.
Kentucky's largest cities and most of the fast growing counties are concentrated in what is referred to as the Golden Triangle, which is almost entirely in the Bluegrass region, with the exception of Hardin, Meade and LaRue counties which are in the Pennyroyal region.

In recognition of China's growing importance to the U.S. economy, Treasury Secretary Henry Paulson flies to Beijing on Tuesday for the first session of a new "strategic economic dialogue" between the U.S. and Chinese governments.
U.S. manufacturers also have grown hoarse griping that the Chinese unfairly subsidize their exports through cut-rate financing from state banks and a currency whose value is kept artificially low.
Monday, Susan Schwab, the U.S. trade representative, told Congress that China's record on WTO compliance is "decidedly mixed." In a 100-page report, Schwab said China has made good progress implementing required reforms, but "excessive Chinese government intervention" in the economy blocks smoother trade ties and forward momentum has stalled.

Term Limits:  The Only Way to Clean Up Congress
Congressional term limits are a necessary corrective to inequalities which inevitably hinder challengers and aid incumbents.
A small army of congressional staffers does volunteer work during campaign season; they have every motivation to do so, since they are campaigning for perpetuation of their jobs.
Term limits would arrest the decline of congressional legitimacy, ensuring that Members would be more truly representative of their communities, and would renew American citizenship by writing into law the principle that people can govern themselves -- and that this representation falls within the competence of any reasonably interested and well-educated citizen.

Page 483 U.S. of value by means of false pretenses and the concealment of material facts.[Footnote 3] The conspiracy count alleged that petitioners had (1) conspired to violate the mail fraud statute through the scheme just described and (2) conspired to defraud the United States by obstructing the collection of federal taxes.
United States, 161 U.S. (1896), the first case in which this Court construed the meaning of the phrase "any scheme or artifice to defraud," held that the phrase is to be interpreted broadly insofar as property rights are concerned, but did not indicate that the statute had a more extensive reach.
Even without congressional action, prosecutions of corrupt officials who use the mails to further their schemes may continue since it will frequently be possible to prove some loss of money or property.[Footnote 10] But many other types of fraudulent use of the mail will now be immune from prosecution.

The world's top u s electoral college websites
Regardless of why the system was chosen, the term "electoral college" is not used in the U.S. Constitution, and it wasn't until the early 1800s that it came into general usage as the unofficial designation for the group of citizens selected to cast votes for President and Vice President.
For instance, the elections of U.S. presidential election, 1916, U.S. presidential election, 1948, and U.S. presidential election, 1960 were virtual ties, yet in each case, Wilson, Truman, and Kennedy, respectively, won decisively in the Electoral College.
Most electoral reform plans in the US include ways to abolish the College, which was originally set up to ensure that responsible citizens would be able to overrule citizens' irrational choices, or negotiate compromises in cases of a very badly split vote where each state was pushing its own native son.
